Bear one another's burdens; in this way you fulfil the will of Christ. —Galatians 6.2
Our church welcomes everyone, regardless of age, sexuality or singing ability! The church was built to serve the new housing estate, and was the ‘daughter church’ of the Parish Church of St. Bartholomew. St. Mary Magdalene was granted its own Parish Status in 1970.
There is a commitment to be a Christian community in this place, to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord whilst drawing alongside those in our area who look for support and companionship of one form or another. The church supports The Bay Food Bank and The People’s Kitchen. A weekly Breakfast Club is staffed by volunteers from the church, alongside friends from other denominations, and meets at The Oxford Centre on Saturday mornings.
Our worship is centred around celebrating Holy Communion together, welcoming a wide range of ages, and including everyone in ‘doing this to remember me,’ as Jesus commanded us to do. We have Sunday School activities and young people helping with services on a regular basis.
We enjoy many social activities, enjoying Line Dancing, live bands, such as The Baldy Holly Band, and Garden Parties. There is always an event to look forward to – and everyone gets involved!
